You’re likely in search of good news as much as what you are in search of the next #familymeeting announcing Level 3. In all of this, Zuki is a breath of fresh air. She is optimistic, kind and a big dreamer.

Zuki hails from Kokstad. Zuki, short for Zukiswa, found Tshepo Community Development Initiative by accident. Zuki, an avid walker, explores the city on foot and walked past Tshepo one day. She was intrigued with this corner and what it offers. Not shy about making her dreams a reality, she approached Tshepo asking whether she can partner with us to create jobs and run the Carwash.

Zuki’s Car Wash opened on 1 June 2021. Zuki says things are slowly getting under way, she’s excited for big things happening as the corner is, in her words, a good corner. Fundamental to any new endeavour is the support of the community, which Zuki says is great, the churches in the immediate neighbourhood is excited to see the carwash up and running.

The car wash currently employs four workers and dreams of expanding to a little destination when people bring in their car, perhaps offering a coffee or a cooldrink. She also dreams of opening another car wash, in a secondary location.

This is a story about an entrepreneur who, despite the changes going on, made her dreams a reality by opening a small business. Good news indeed.
